Lexington located 10 miles south of Interstate 40, midway between Memphis and Nashville is the county seat of Henderson County. The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 6,849, an increase of 1,039 since 1990. Latest census 2000 is 7,393.

Natchez Trace State Park- the State's largest and most visited park, is just six miles northeast of Lexington. The park covers over 46,000 square acres and is managed by the Tennessee Department of Conservation. The park's Pin Oak Lodge, located on Pin Oak lake, provides single and double room accommodations, including cabins, restaurant, swimming pool and tennis courts for guest. A newly developed campground with 77 new sites is also located near the lodge on Pin Oak lake.
