Lexington located 10 miles south of Interstate 40, midway between Memphis and Nashville is the county seat of Henderson County. The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 6,849, an increase of 1,039 since 1990. Latest census 2000 is 7,393.

A newly developed campground with 77 new sites is also located near the lodge on Pin Oak lake.
